About Benito

Benito Mendizabal has over a decade of experience in baseball as a player, coach, and mental performance consultant. He played collegiate baseball at Seton Hill University and Eckerd College before transitioning into coaching at both the high school and collegiate levels. Benito spent seven years coaching college baseball at Ave Maria University, Wheeling University, and Indiana University of Pennsylvania, where he worked closely with athletes to enhance both their on-field performance and mental approach to the game.

In addition to his coaching background, Benito has worked for several years as a consultant with high school athletes, supporting their development and guiding them through the college recruiting process. His combined experience as a former athlete, college coach, and consultant allows him to understand the demands athletes face and to apply practical, performance-focused mental skills in real-world sport settings.

Benito earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Pittsburgh in 2017, followed by an MBA from Wheeling University in 2020. He holds a Master’s degree in Sport and Performance Psychology from Commonwealth University of Pennsylvania and is working toward a Certified Mental Performance Consultant® (CMPC) certification through the Association for Applied Sport Psychology. Athletes can work with Benito to improve their mental performance in many different areas which can be found here: Areas of Expertise
